Welp, y’all are constantly asking me for a fun recipe from my hometown (a lot of y’all are living in LA but like me, are transplants from all over!), so I wanted to bring you one of my favorites… THE Stinger Sub. Assuming y’all have absolutely no idea what that is, it originated from a restaurant called Jim’s Steakout in Buffalo, NY. Jim’s Steakout is your typical late night “drunk” food, they have all different kinds of subs and things, but their star is the infamous Stinger Sub. And what exactly is it you ask? It’s a Philly cheesesteak with lettuce, tomato, provolone cheese, mayo, and Buffalo chicken fingers… all in one sub. Yep. You heard me right. I know it might sound weird, but trust me, after ONE bite you will be head over heels in love.
I teamed up with some AMAZING vegan food bloggers to bring you a wide range of other fun “hometown” dishes, and y’all… theirs look so dang amazing. I can’t wait to see your recreations of them all! Let me first show you their amazing creations before we get into how to properly make the Stinger.

First up are these amazing Cheesy Elote Poppers with Fresno Chiles by the incredible Ashley of @eat_figs_not_pigs. If you don’t already follow Ashley, she posts some DANG good comfort food & is just one of the sweetest humans. You won’t regret following her or trying her recipe(s), trust me!

Next up from THE burger dude himself, we have the Frisco Burger from Marie Callender’s. You can find the recipe here. Watson is the creative force behind @thee_burger_dude & if y’all are looking for some burgers, chicken, or anything smothered in cheese- he’s your guy!

Who doesn’t love potatoes and mushrooms?! Silvia, @silviaryan, created this absolutely delicious Potato Au Gratin with Mushrooms that were a childhood favorite of hers. And dang don’t they look delicious?! Not only does Silvia post some amazing recipes, she has the cutest doggo & posts lots of awesome travel content that I’m sure you’ll enjoy as much as I do!

Y’all know I have a crab dip recipe on here (and it’s one of my most popular recipes), but this one by Caitlin from @frommybowl looks TO DIE FOR. And with her being from what is basically the crab capital of the states, I’m sure she’s got way more experience with this one. I’m sure y’all are all well aware of Caitlin and her amazing recipes / blog, but incase you aren’t- give her a follow! She also has some super cute doggos, an amazing garden, and her recipes are super user friendly. To find the recipe for this crab dip, click here!

Next up, we have some absolutely delicious Mushroom Asado Fries by Jackie of @veganyackattack. I actually met Jackie YEARS ago when I was first getting into food blogging, and we’ve been friends since! She even worked on high cuisine when I was a contestant there & it was such a pleasant surprise having her on set (and taking care of my precious risotto while on a smoke break haha). If you want to make these fries yourself, the recipe is here!

And last but not least, we have some AMAZING Haitian Jackfruit Enchiladas from the musical genius Gabrielle aka @onegreatvegan! These seriously look far too good to pass up, and if you haven’t seen Gabrielle on social media, SHE LITERALLY SINGS YOU THE RECIPE! It’s truly amazing, and her food is so dang delicious. You can watch her sing the recipe to you here!

And then we have my creation- the mf Stinger Sub. It truly is one of the more unique subs you’ll ever have in your life & if you’re a comfort food / junk food vegan like myself- this is right up your dang alley. You can find the recipe for mine below!
I just wanted to say a big thank you to ALL of the amazing bloggers who collaborated with me on this super fun project! It’s been so fun getting to see these dishes from all over come to life- and getting to work with some of my favorite bloggers in the industry! You really should check them all out if you haven’t already, trust me you’ll love them all as much as I do! Make sure you tag us if you make any of these amazing recipes. Love y’all from the bottom of my cold little heart.

In a skillet over medium high heat, add all of your steak ingredients & cook until browned & the liquid has almost all evaporated.

Generously coat your top bun in mayo, and smush that thing together. Wrap in sandwich paper and cut in half for easier eating!
