You know when you’re craving some real fancy ass burgers but there aren’t too many places that do a good vegan one? Well I got you (duh, as always)! This burger consists of 2 patties covered in melty pepper jack cheese, crispy fried onions, mayo, arugula, and jalapeño jam to really give it that next level flair. Trust me, it tastes like you paid way too much for it at a fancy restaurant.

I’m really excited to announce that this recipe is in collaboration with Follow Your Heart! They’re one of my favorite brands, and I’ve gotten so many requests to make more recipes using their products from y’all, since they’re so accessible across the US. The product I used in this recipe is their Pepperjack Slices! They’re so dang good and really send this recipe over the top!

This burger is seriously so simple to make even if it seems super fancy! Here’s what you need & how to do it-

Ingredients-

  • Vegan burgers of your choice (we used impossible)
  • Follow Your Heart Pepperjack Slices
  • Follow Your Heart Avocado Vegenaise
  • 1 large red onion
  • 2 cups plain unsweetened plant milk
  • 2 cups flour (seasoned with salt)
  • Canola oil for frying
  • ½ cup jalapeno jam (or pepper jelly)
  • Arugula
  • Burger Buns

Instructions-

  1. Slice your onions into either half-moons or full circles and let sit in the plant milk for 10 minutes while your canola oil heats up to 375F.
  2. Take the onions from the milk and place them into your seasoned flour until coated, then drop into the hot oil.  Cook until golden brown, then remove and place on a wire rack or paper towel lined plate to drain.  Season with salt.
  3. Cook up your burgers according to package instructions & melt a piece of pepperjack on each burger.
  4. Toast up your buns, then add some mayo to the bottom bun, 2 burger patties with cheese, your crispy onions, some arugula, and your top bun smothered in jalapeno jam / pepper jelly.
  5. Stick a sandwich pick in to hold it together and enjoy!

See I told you, I promise it’s sooooo easy to make & that you’ll fall in love instantly.  Like. Super fucking instantly.

But that’s it! Super easy, super delicious, and definitely something amazing to make when you are craving that comfort food, or really any time, let’s be honest.
