Spicy Barbecue Ranch Onion Ring Chicken Sandwich

Y’all know that new spicy western burger at Carl’s Jr.? I wanted to recreate something similar to that, but in a different light. Using a Chikn Patty and Barbecue Ranch instead really take this sandwich to new fucking heights, and let me tell you, it’s so good.

This post is sponsored by Alpha Foods! If you haven’t heard of them, now you have! They make some of the MOST AMAZING frozen vegan products on the market, ranging from frozen burritos, tamales, pot pies, etc.- to chicken nuggets, and other vegan meats. And the quality is top notch. Even their frozen burritos when microwaved hold together, don’e explode, and the tortilla never gets that weird rubbery texture- plus they’re actually LOADED with filling.

You can find their products here https://alphaplantbased.com/, and I just want to give a huge thanks to Alpha for collaborating with me on this post and many more to come! I’m so excited to show y’all how easy it is to upgrade these frozen items into full blown meals.

You can also find these Chikn Patties at COSTCO now! How fucking awesome is that? A box of TEN?! Sign me up! Head to their instagram for more information about where to find these golden little boxes of joy.

Okay let’s start out with making some homemade Barbecue Ranch-

  • 1/2 cup vegan mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup vegan plain unsweetened yogurt
  • 1/4-1/2 cup regular unsweetened almond milk
  • A loose 1⁄8 cup each of fresh parsley dill, and chives
  • Salt / Black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup vegan barbecue sauce
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tbsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2-3 tbsp distilled white vinegar to taste
  1. For the Barbecue Ranch, add your vegan mayo, yogurt, almond milk, fresh herbs (can use dried if fresh is unavailable, but use half the amount), salt / black pepper, barbecue sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, and vinegar to a bowl.
  2. Mix well until combined.  Taste and adjust seasoning.  Add less almond milk at first and add more until you reach your desired thickness / thinness.

Now we work on the rest of the sandwich! Here’s what ya need-

  • 2 Alpha Foods Chickn Patties
  • 2 Burger Buns, toasted
  • Tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • Pickled Jalapenos
  • 4 slices vegan pepperjack cheese
  • Frozen Onion Rings (about 3 per sandwich)
  • Barbecue Ranch
  1. Bake your Alpha Foods Chikn Patty & your frozen onion rings according to package instructions.  In the last 2-3 minutes of cooking the chicken- add 2 slices of pepperjack cheese to each patty and allow to melt in the oven.
  2. Toast your buns, then place some Barbecue Ranch on the bottom, then your chickn patty & cheese, some sliced tomato, pickled jalapenos, onion rings, and more barbecue ranch.  Squeeze down your top bun, wrap up, and enjoy!

Super easy, super delicious, and the perfect way to dress up some frozen Chikn Patties (& onion rings). Trust me nobody would ever guess it was frozen after you serve them this!
