Creamy Garlic Snow Peas with Bacon

Looking for a super easy side dish to whip up right now that uses very few ingredients? I got y’all. These Creamy Garlic Snow Peas with Bacon are so fucking good, so easy and fast to whip up, and go great with just about anything (or are good even just on their own).

I’m really excited to announce that this recipe is in collaboration with Follow Your Heart! They’re one of my favorite brands, and I’ve gotten so many requests to make more recipes using their products from y’all, since they’re so accessible across the US. The product I used in this recipe is their Creamy Garlic Salad Dressing. It’s so dang good and really sends this recipe over the top!

Alright, here’s how you make these bad boys. Trust me, it’s INSANELY easy.

  • 1 pound snow peas, steamed
  • 1/4-1/3 cup Follow Your Heart Creamy Garlic Dressing
  • 1/2 block tempeh, crumbled
  • 2 tsp maple syrup
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp liquid smoke
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp water
  1. Steam your snow peas and set aside to cool slightly.
  2. In a bowl, mix together your maple syrup, smoked paprika, soy sauce, salt to taste, liquid smoke, garlic powder, olive oil, and water.  Add in your crumbled tempeh and let sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Transfer the crumbled tempeh and marinade into a non-stick pan over medium heat, and cook until browned and the marinade has caramelized.
  4. Toss your snow peas with Follow Your Heart Creamy Garlic Dressing, and top with the tempeh bacon crumbles.

Now you totally do not have to make your own vegan bacon crumbles. You can just cook up some store bought vegan bacon and crumble it, or even use the accidentally vegan bacon bits that are sold in stores. And if don’t like tempeh but still want to make your own, you can use crumbled firm tofu, cauliflower rice, etc. to get the job done in place of tempeh!

See I told you, I promise it’s sooooo easy to make & that you’ll fall in love instantly.  Like. Super fucking instantly.

But that’s it! Super easy, super delicious, and definitely something amazing to make for the spring time blues (is that even a thing?), or really any time, let’s be honest. Once again, I just want to give a big thanks to Follow Your Heart for sponsoring this recipe and allowing me to share it with y’all! It’s truly delicious. As always, if you make this, make sure to tag me @plvntfood / #plvntfood and tag @followyourheart as well, so we can all see it! Love y’all with my cold little heart.
