As y’all can probably tell, I’m really into teaching y’all how to upgrade frozen items into full delicious meals (as if they’re not already delicious on their own). And especially with everything going ton with the COVID-19 quarantine, stocking up on these frozen items is an easy way to keep food around without it going bad while staying home. This Philly Cheesesteak Burrito with Spiced Steak Fries & Provolone Cheese Sauce, and Green Bell Pepper Pinto Beans is the absolute perfect thing for that.

This post is sponsored by Alpha Foods! If you haven’t heard of them, now you have! They make some of the MOST AMAZING frozen vegan products on the market, ranging from frozen burritos, tamales, pot pies, etc.- to chicken nuggets, and other vegan meats. And the quality is top notch. Even their frozen burritos when microwaved hold together, don’e explode, and the tortilla never gets that weird rubbery texture- plus they’re actually LOADED with filling.
You can find their products here https://alphaplantbased.com/, and I just want to give a huge thanks to Alpha for collaborating with me on this post and many more to come! I’m so excited to show y’all how easy it is to upgrade these frozen items into full blown meals. Today I’m using their Philly Cheesesteak Burrito and holy fuck is it so good… especially when dunked in that Provolone Cheese Sauce.

Let’s start with the sides! These ‘slightly refried’ green bell pepper pinto beans are SO dang good, and are so easy to make & keep well in the fridge for a while. Heres how to make them-
- 2 cups pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- ½ yellow onion, diced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt / pepper to taste
- ¼ cup vegetable broth
- Add your olive oil to a pot over medium heat & add in your onion and green pepper. Season with salt and pepper and cook until translucent and slightly browned, about 5 minutes.
- Then add in your vegetable broth, pinto beans, and more salt / pepper to taste. Cook for about 10 minutes over medium-low heat until the beans are cooked through.
- Drain the liquid and scoop out ¼ of the beans / peppers mixture and blend with the cooking liquid until smooth. Transfer back into the pot and mix until thick and well combined.

Now for, in my opinion, the best part. The damn spiced steak fries with provolone cheese sauce. I could seriously eat these every single day, and this cheese sauce is perfect for dunking the burrito in as well! Heres how to make them-
- Frozen Steak Fries
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp old bay seasoning
- Salt / Pepper to taste
- 2 Packs of Vegan Provolone cheese slices
- ¼-½ cup regular unsweetened almond milk
- Cook your fries according to the package instructions.
- While the fries are cooking, cube up your provolone cheese slices and add them to a pot with a small amount of almond milk. Allow to melt, adding more almond milk as needed (while whisking) until the cheese is melted and a thick sauce forms. Season with salt & pepper to taste.
- When your fries are done, transfer to a bowl & add in your chili powder, old bay, salt & pepper and toss to combine.
- Serve together.

To get everything good to go, cook your Alpha Foods Burrito according to package instructions, then cut on a bias & top with scallions. Serve alongside your steak fries and cheese sauce, and pinto beans. And boom! You’re done!
But like I said- that’s it! Super easy, super delicious, and the perfect way to dress up that frozen burrito. Trust me nobody would ever guess it was frozen after you serve them this full plate!
Once again I want to give a big thank you to Alpha Foods for sponsoring this post and allowing me to create some really amazing recipes for you guys. You know I’m all about easy, accessible meals, and showing y’all how to dress up an inexpensive and easy to make frozen burrito is so exciting! Keep an eye out for more recipes using Alpha’s products, and make sure to check them out! And if you make this, make sure to tag us both on social media so we can see it! Love y’all with my cold little heart.
